Can you tour a public middle school?

When we were looking at schools the secretary took our name and said she'd call in the new year when they do a tour for anyone interested. She did, and the tour was really helpful. We didn't get to sit in on any classes, but I got a good sense of the school.

That's a lot of money to spend as a response for not being allowed to tour a public school.

We were on 80% financial aid, so not at all. Most decent non-religious privates in this area have huge endowments. Middle class don't pay near as much as you think. It was an easy decision once we toured multiple privates.

DP. Could you please name them -I can't think of many non-religious privates in this area, they all seem to be Catholic.
