Does anybody know if Ally Bank does these promotions frequently? I am thinking of opening an account but am in no rush. I, too, wish I knew about this promotion!!!

I actually have an online savings account with Ally and I'm more annoyed at Ally for not advertising this deal to their current customers. I was checking my emails and they didn't even make a peep about the deal, even though they send plenty of junk promotional stuff.

OP here. These new accounts with the 1% bonus have to remain deposited until Feb. 15th to get the bonus. I’d be willing to bet that Capital One 360 or one of the other online banks will do a similar program then just to get many of these customers back. I’m guessing Ally literally stoled tens of millions of dollars worth of deposits during this program.
