LOL thanks for the tip Barca lady, because that’s where the quote came from. I assure you the girls at Spirit VA are much better than your bunch! |
That comment just shows you did not actually watch the games, you are arbitrarily defining a one goal difference as close and a two goal difference as not close. These were competitive games with good even play for much of the game from both sides. And it’s a fact that there is a WS VA hater here who is known to sock puppet. You can’t erase that fact, and there is no reason to believe that individual has stopped posting here. |
First, you are responding to more than one poster. Second, someone made a commment comparing Spirit MD with VA in a negative light. So the Spirit MD supporter, or whomever it really was, decided to hijack it that way on their own. |
So that IS your defense every time. Got it. |
Your comment proves you didn't understand the original post the comment came from. Hahaha! I don't have kids at Barca, but I would personally pay to see them wipe the field with your teams. Might as well, since everyone else already has. |
Nope, just stating facts. 1. Fact, the games this weekend were competitive, with the edge to Spirit MD but VA not terribly far behind in most age groups. The scores were representative, especially the timing, a few of the games were tied until late goals. 2. There is a complete batshit crazy WS VA hater on this forum who is known to sock puppet and generally tear down the club. Look to your left, look to your right; if you can't acknowledge it, it's probably you. |
ROTFLMAO the Barca kids suck. I've seen their teams personally; awful. But nice try, I know who you are! What a jackass. |
| Did anyone's daughter attend the ID session last night for the WS MD 06/07 age groups? Curious to hear about what kind of turn out it may have had. |
Yes, let's talk about Spirit MD for God's sake. No, but do you know if they will have ID sessions for the older age groups at all this winter? |
My DD plays for Arlington and as the record shows, WS MD is a better team than we are. They are faster to the ball, and most had better technical skills. I think that part of this is because they pull from a large area. We spoke with a MD parent who said he travels 80 miles for practice. Now, I'm not sure if that was roundtrip or not but, wow. They have a fairly deep bench, but all the players are strong and they have a few who are REALLY talented. I was actually surprised by the close scores between the U14 MD vs. VA game. While VA is better than their record shows, MD is a much stronger team. |
| For those currently with girls at Spirit MD (or VA), did Spirit MD have ID sessions earlier than Spirit VA last year? I am just curious why Spirit MD have already held an ID session, with two more coming up in Nov. and Dec., while Spirit VA has not yet announced any ID sessions. I get that they are separate teams, but I am a little surprised that Spirit is not more coordinated in setting up ID sessions for their two teams. |
| I promise this is not intended to bash Spirit VA or to get the person who bashes them to write 20 more posts about them, but there is a rumor going round that Spirit is dropping DA, and this might explain why Spirit MD has ID sessions for next year, but Spirit VA has not posted any ID sessions for next year. Hopefully that is not true, and someone in the know will explain the inconsistency between the two Spirit teams. |
Those of us in the club have not heard this rumor. I’m sure your “promise” is genuine. We get that there is one or two Spirit VA haters on the board, but it makes zero sense for just one side to pull out and not both. The more likely explanation is the same as last year; they were not coordinated because the organizations are different. Two different TDs, different coaching staff, and different teams. It’s like having two different clubs under the same umbrella organization. It’s only November, so it’s not unheard of not to have sessions for the following season yet. I can tell you that I’ve seen several players from another leading club practice with our group, so they aren’t exactly turning interested people away. |
| Thanks. That is helpful. |
FCV has a link to DA ID sessions but no actual dates. So essentially, fill out a form and get invited to a practice. Spirit VA is no different really, just contact the club. The idea that ID sessions are necessary is a bit out of touch. If you are interested in a DA or ANY team for that matter just reach out to the coach of the team directly and go to practices. In fact, this is a better way to go than attending a cattle call ID session. High level teams will ALWAYS take a look at a kid anytime. |
