Kids Sports, Coaches and Use of Profanity

| I coach roughly the same age group. I swear quite a bit when talking to other adults, but I make it a point not to do it around the kids when coaching. They're going to learn those words eventually, but they shouldn't learn them from their coaches or teachers. That is an extremely poor example to set and shows a lack of self control on the part of the coach. Using the 'N' word in particular is ridiculous, kids should never hear that word come out of an adult's mouth. However, I don't think any of those words are acceptable to use when leading a group of 10-11 year old kids. |
