Gathering strength to leave

Anonymous
I had a very similar experience and left after many years of taking it.

The thing that made me finally get serious about going was when my therapist said to me, "Do you need me to bring in the research to show you how damaging his yelling and verbal abuse are to your children? Because I can do that - there's plenty out there."

Start buying gift cards (that don’t expire) to places you shop often—target, giant, aldi, amazon, even a few pizza places or restaurants. Save them somewhere safe like a locked cabinet at work or with a trusted friend. This will give you a financial buffer if things get crazy it tight after the separation/divorce

Good luck to you!
