TV may be a waste of time ( to some) but, it isn't poison. Poison kills you. Tv does not.

I was at a meeting once with a group of teachers from a public charter school who were upset that they received low PrekCLASS scores because they had shown tv for a portion of their visit. They just couldn't see what was wrong with it.

We certainly watched educational cartoons or mini-documentaries in elementary school. As long as it's educational (meaning, not just in general, but something related to the lesson plan) and not an every day thing, I have no problem with it.

I also understand TV if the kids are stuck inside because of really bad weather.

I agree. I don't send my kids to school to watch TV for entertainment or babysitting. Kids can watch TV at home if they and their parents want them to. I'd talk to the teacher, and if the problem is real and doesn't change, take my concerns up the chain of command.
