Why doesn't Bethesda have their own facility?

I'd think the problem with having more fields in Bethesda itself is the same as the problem with having more fields in McLean, Vienna, etc. It's too close to D.C., too built-up and too expensive.

I'm not intimately familiar with Bethesda real estate, but is there a place they could even build a mini-plex?

It’s time to start looking out if the box. There are some large building with flat roofs. Maybe the county could encourage these in t(e design process and it would be a source of additional revenue to the landlord.

That’s what Alexandria did with Limerick field. It’s a really nice addition.

The fastest route to the SoccerPlex from Bethesda is to take River Rd to Esworthy to Seneca Rd to Spring Meadows. Spring Meadows turns into 118 and the Plex is off 118. It is about a 25-30 min trip from the River/495 intersection. It is actually closer to play some away games VA then at the Plex from Bethesda.

Yes, that's why the preceding post said MoCo needs to address this as soon as possible. The fact is that the WJ turf field exists and and is in such bad shape because the county entered into a public-private partnership with BSC and neither side will do its part to keep the field truly safe and in good condition.

it is awful. My DD sustained a serious injury on the field. You can see the pellets fly up when any pressure is put on them-- there is nothing holding them down. A friend's DS also sustained a serious injury there. Someone is going to die there if they do not do something about it
