Order them some fans. |
They have fans. It is still hot. |

Regarding emotional adjustment
-Resiiance -learning to make new friends -relying on one's self these are good things |
I doubt it'll become a habit. I didn't get the impression that he's feeling bored or lonely at school, he just wanted to spend a little time with us, too, which was nice. He's doing well. |
Tell them to stay hydrated. The heat is miserable but I remember actually getting used to it after awhile. Hopefully the worst of the heat will be over soon and next thing you know they'll be complaining because the school hasn't turned the heat on, yet. |
It is not just a matter of how many degrees hotter it is. It is a matter of the number of days of extreme heat, especially consecutive days. Did you read the link? Or did you disregard it because you are a science denier? |
I'm the 1st poster. They are sleeping in the hallway because the air is moving in the hallway. He tried sleeping in front of the minifridge but it didn't work. I told him to go to an air conditioned library and sleep there between classes. |
Cold wash cloths |
| My DS attended William and Mary. Some of the freshman dorms did not have AC. |
| It’s fine for them to sleep in the library. |
| Sure, but at some point it’s pretty nasty. Some of these schools, particularly the ones with fat endowments, need to wake up and realize this is the new normal. Pause the climbing wall with brick-fired pizza cafe and AC the dorms. |
This sounds like a great way to make friends. The whole dorm floor sleeping in the hallway = ice breaker |
yeah, when college used to be 5 thousand a year and you could pay for two semesters with a summer landscaping job. now it's 25 thousand minimum and upwards of 75 thousand per year for private.
|
I hope you're just a troll. 90s in a dorm room is legitimately unsafe to sleep in. A fan will do nothing to cool that down, esp with humidity. |
Yea, it's a coed floor. |
