Petar?

Tenleytown is messy and needs beautification and sanitation, Wisconsin and Conn are full of homeless (see thread under off topic) and she is adding to the density with her placement of the new homeless shelter right by Cathedral Commons, the Tenley library (most frequented in city) was built without sufficient parking on purpose - as have been many new developments, She has not represented residents to AU who have expanded without limits while driving out great tenants, apparently anyone whose kid goes to Eaton can't stand her, she is personally brusque and off putting, holds two jobs (which I think is gross, when you are feeding at the tax payers till you should give your all), she seems to view it as a position for life (not sure when this happened with public service), what else...

Cheh got money for clean teams to keep Connecticut and Wisconsin Avenues cleaner than they were before. The crews are out there every day. I see them when I am out and about.

You complain about the homeless and also complain about the homeless shelter. Can't complain about both without exposing your hypocrisy.

The Tenley library didn't have much parking in the previous version. It is a small lot. Uber there if you need to. Everyone else does.

AU is an asset to the Ward and City. It should be able to build new buildings on property it owns. If you don't like that, buy the property yourself or move somewhere where higher education is not valued. There are plenty of red states where that is the case. I am sure they would love to have you - you would appear to be able to fit right in.

The only way to fix overcrowding in Ward 3 schools is to redraw feeder boundary lines.

Politically, the Janney people have fought it at every turn - and that is a DCPS, not Council decision.

Sure, we could fund a new school. But Bowser has made clear the deal with both Ellington and the old Hardy site. So where would a new Ward 3 school be located? It is great to talk about it, but the practical reality isn't there.

Literally everything else on his list is part of the existing broader agenda.

Literally his only solution to W3 DCPS overcrowding listed on his website is building a new school, which hardly is a brave stance since he knows (and everyone else knows) that it's not going to happen for any number of reasons. It's a nice platitude to the many W3 voters who probably agree with that sentiment but those voters aren't dummies: They know it's just not going to happen.

If he really wants to go out on a limb and differentiate himself from Cheh, he should come out as a strong proponent of another boundary revision.

I guess they are. Another $200k a year for the community, thanks to Cheh.

It's hard to see a boundary revision being popular in Ward 3.

Which is why it won't happen. And neither will a new school, which makes Petar's white paper worthless.

I guess I'm just tired of Mary cheh then. Don't find her responsive. Don't like how she pushed the homeless shelter off on CC by dictate. A fresh perspective will be fine.

Petar want to keep the blacks out of Ward 3 by getting rid of that shelter.

I think lots of people are waiting for someone to vote for instead of Mary Cheh. I know I am.

I hope we hear more from Petar. Actually, we haven't heard much yet. Are there signs up? Is he holding events? Knocking on doors? Anyone hear him speak yet? Any charisma?

I didn't even realize someone was challenging Cheh until I clicked on this. Thought it was a name thread in the wrong forum.

You're ridiculous. There are tons of blacks in Ward 3. Have you ever visited?

Cheh has her flaws, but at this point, she is one of the senior Councilmembers and can deliver on budget issues more effectively than a rookie with barely any real-world experience. Being a Ward Community person for a mayor isn't real world, IMO.

If this is a serious question, there are African-American's living throughout the Ward in every neighborhood. Obviously not is an high of percentages as in other parts of the city, but that is changing, for the better.

Would you say for the better if whites started moving into historically black neighborhoods? Honestly we need to stop all the racial nonsense. No one is barred from living anywhere in DC. Economics are a driving force. There are plenty of rich blacks in NW as well as in other neighborhoods of their choosing.
