My son is in kindergarten at FCS this year and quite a few parents from DC have kids there. My son absolutely loves the school. He comes home talking about all sorts of interesting things. Tuition is about half the cost of DC private schools and aid can bring it down even lower. Due to my debt load, I had to get a second job to afford the school, even with nearly 40 percent in aid (and a six-figure income). Then I was unemployed from my main job and am getting by barely on contract jobs. So we are struggling and I am still looking for public school options just in case I can't affford next year. No school is perfect, but FCS gets high marks in a lot of key areas.
