| I'm not going to but I'm just shocked that in a normal cycle I would know by now. Egg and sperm met 10 days ago. I'm going to wait it out and test again on Thursday. Who knows... |
Gimmicky BS? Really? No, you cannot stop the progesterone and estrogen. You need them and if you skip for 4 days, yes you could miscarry! |
In both my IVF pregnancies I got my first very faint line 11dpo. I've never heard of anyone testing positive before 10dpo. Don't stop your meds! It's way too early! |
OP, i get you. I would normally do the meds until day 13 or 14, and then stop, a few days before SG tested me. Unnecessary excessive estrogen can be harmful, why do it? |
|
Everyone's HCG levels rise differently. According to the Betabase, viable pregnancies have occurred in women with HCG levels as low as 6 on 16 DPO. This level would probably not be picked up by a home pregnancy test.
I haven't done IVF and am definitely not an expert, but I think they give you the hormonal support for a reason, something having to do with how the drugs or the egg retrieval affects how your body produces hormones naturally. |

It's no gimicky bullshit. really.
SG isn't making anything off a few pennies of estrogen or progesterone. They know if they test everyone at 18 days post retrieval (then they'll get an accurate result in 98% of patients (or whatever). At 14 days post, this percentage might be 85% (or whatever..I'm throwing a number out there). I had VERY low, very slowly rising betas following IVF. If I had done a blood test at 12 days post retrieval it may have been 2 or 10. Inconclusive at best. Probably at least initially reported as negative. My betas were still really low at 18 days post ovulation and then never doubled as they were supposed to. I ended up with 3 kids from 2 IVF cycles and all 3 are athletes and A students in middle school (so they didn't end up slow physically or mentally---just started out very, very, very slow!!) Good luck! |
| Of course you can test now. I got a BFP 9DPO (which I counted at retrieval). Dominion let me come in the next day for a blood test, but I think SG makes you wait the 14 days, which I find to be torture. |
HIGHLY unlikely. |
|
SG just doesn’t want to deal with chemical pregnancies. That’s the only reason for them to wait so long.
OP - I would test from 11dpo until 16dpo. If you still don’t have a + by 16dpo then I would make a decision re: continuing p4/e2. You could call the nurse first if you want. Biggest question is if you’d regret stopping early just for the very slim chance you’re pg. |
| I kept testing till 2 days before beta (SG). When I still kept getting glaring white tests I stopped meds. I wouldn't quit at your stage, OP. |
|
OP here. Thanks for the advice. I haven’t stopped the meds yet. I’m having weird crampy sensations like I do before my periods. Who knows. It’s just frustrating but worth it.
What’s DPO...days past ovulation? Is that the same day as my retrieval? Yes right? Today would be 10 dpo. |
if you are only 10dpo, that is WAY too early to even think of stopping meds. That’s the equivalent of 5dp5dt (5 days post 5 day transfer) or 7dp3dt (7 days post 3 day transfer). I got my BFP at 8dp5dt with my successful pregnancy. I am also with SG, and I agree that the wait until 14 days after transfer is ridiculously long, but please don’t count yourself out yet. 10dpo is really quite early. |
| My friend didn't get her BFP until 18dpo (13dp5dt). He's now a wonderful 5yo. Don't stop you meds! |
| You can always get POAS test from CVS. |
You are now 12 DPO Op, did you test? If you are pregnant, a test would be positive by now. Good luck. |
