I would choose Sligo and Einstein over SSIMS and Northwood. I think there is a larger high achieving peer cohort at Einstein, and course offerings are more robust.

One thing I wish Id been more focused on when we were buying our house in an unwalkable area of Kensington, was how important it would be for my middle and high school kids to be able to walk places on their own. I'd factor walkability into your house search.

We are in the Woodlin/Sligo/Einstein catchment and our teens get everywhere on foot and via public transportation. It is a huge advantage for our day to day quality of life.

Though SSIMS has more robust course offerings than Sligo, and has IB MYP and the block schedule. Our former SSIMS student is now at Einstein, and we're very pleased. Friends at Northwood are happy with it too.

It’s for all students. It’s the whole school, not a separate group within the school.

OP, Woodlin is likely going to be zoned to Woodward. Woodward before it closed in the 80’s due to low enrollment was every bit of a “W” school as Walter Johnson. I expect that to continue when it opens again. There’s a few Woodward threads on here and you can go on the Montgomery County website to look at the plan surrounding Woodward.
