For the overwhelming majority of people, nothing bad.

Mercury occurs naturally all around you. You'd have to live in a bubble to avoid it. Like the rest of life, it's a risk-risk trade-off.

I don't worry about it and would rather go ahead and get the vaccine. I consider the flu a much higher risk than the mercury in thimerosal, which is less than that contained in a pack of tuna.
