Low carb lifestyle while pregnant

OP, carbs are very, very important for fetal and childhood brain development. You need to increase good carbs in your diet when you are pregnant.

Oh yes, please do quote some studies on RATS. That definitely proves your point about human fetal development! Yes yes. You're clearly the brightest bulb on the tree.

GLUCOSE is important to fetal development. But it is NOT NECESSARY to consume moderate to high quantities of carbohydrates to produce GLUCOSE. You would understand this if you paused to reflect on the fact that people don't suffer brain death after eating eggs and only eggs for a week.

If you would actually like to educate yourself before spouting off, google "gluconeogenesis" and do some reading about how your body works.

Eskimos eat full blown keto traditionally and have healthy babies.

And you got your nutrition degree where?

This is absolutely not true, OP. Fruits and vegetables alone do not provide adequate carbs.

Np Yes, they do! If she eats a diet high enough in fat (meats, dairy, nuts etc. ), she will have more than enough energy.

Honey go back to your crayons. If she eats a diet like that she’ll just get fat. And I don’t mean just pregnant fat.

Spoken like someone who thinks it's acceptable to give apple sauce and juice to their pre-diabetic kid.

NP here. I tend to find people this rude and defensive usually know deep down they have a weak position, so you resort to insults.

They use rats/ mice in studies because they have been shown to be remarkably similar to humans. Further, it is unethical to perform studies on pregnant women, so. All you get is anecdotal, uncontrolled findings. Hence, rats.

Maybe learn something about the scientific method before spouting off yourself, yeah? And try not to be such a raging asshat. Please.

Hi OP, I eat a similar diet (but do regularly eat potatoes etc so not really low carb) and for my next pregnancy I will be ocassionally eating gluten, dairy, etc for the same reasons pps mentioned peanut butter. I think it’s better to give some exposure to these things.

You speak like someone with an eating disorder.
