Tips for cheap tickets to London?

I'll have to do more research, but wondering whether the hotels offered are generally inconvenient to public transit, or some other drawback.

You need to do your own research on that, OP - see what the hotels are and then check them out for yourself, including location and price. I don't think you'll find that you save much but it might be worth it to you for convenience. Sometimes the hotels included in those packages are those that are near to the airports - in London that would not be great as then you'd be commuting into the city each day to sightsee.

I generally try to spend a max of $500 for tickets to London. You can score some great deals if you wait and watch. I subscribe to emails from Scott's Cheap Flights and just want for a deal to London. It definitely depends on your risk tolerance and how specific your travel dates are. Good luck!

Ugh, no. Stay close in and walk everywhere. London is easy to walk, great character/scenery/historic, and totally fine to navigate by foot.

OP here. Thanks all! Will continue to search for tickets but will accept that I may not find any cheaper than $500-600.

OP here. I'm assuming this is not a direct flight? How long was your layover?
