Is 6th grade too late to start a boy in lacrosse?

My suggestion simply is for him to play "wall ball" this summer. Take a stick and a ball and find a cement or brick wall. Throw and catch.

Try to throw 5 times without missing it. Then 10 times. Then throw with right to left Left hand to right. The moment he gets the ability to catch and throw, he's in.

If he can ultimately catch low throws and high throws and throw/catch on the run, he'll make the higher levels.

At 6th grade, let him enjoy the game with his friends. When he tries out for a team, merely tell him to hustle and pay attention during the drills.

As a referee, I know that coaches will take 20 coachable kids over 15 lax bros. Good luck!

Wall ball is the key. I have high school friend who started as a freshman at top college lacrosse team. The secret of his success? He played well ball for hours, every day. Think Michael Jordan with a basketball shooting alone for hours.

And that's the truth, Ruth!

That's the truth, Ruth?? What are you 90 years old...

That diarrhea you spewed above is one of the most ignorant statement's I've read on this board. STOP!! drinking the bong water, get off this board and stick to what slack jawed mouth breathers with very low intellect like you excel at. Drooling and playing with your belly button lint!!

The athletic ability and skill sets needed to play Lacrosse at the elite level whether in club, high school, college or professionally is absolutely insane.

The FACT is that many young and adult men who play Lacrosse CHOOSE to play the sport above all others because they absolutely love it, NOT because they can't dribble a ball on a court or kick a ball down a field you twit.

Now go away, you're dismissed!!

To the OP. Yes, your son should absolutely go for it if he has an interest in playing. Every sport has a roster spot/team for every player at every level.
