The glaciers will be a good deal colder than the nearby towns. The breeze that flows constantly off them is icy cold, and the air is damp.
PPs who suggested layers are right on. I would also avoid jeans, I prefer hiking style pants that dry quickly. My packing list for a recent trip was: Hiking pants (synthetic material), one of which had a thin liner for extra warmth Quick-dry/moisture-wicking athletic t-shirts 1 lightweight fleece or flannel for layering Another heavier fleece for additional layering Rain jacket and rain pants for layering over all of that - good for windbreakers even if it isn't raining Hat and thin gloves Moisture-wicking socks Hiking shoes and duck boots Binoculars and camera I didn't bother with dress/skirt or nice shoes, but that depends on what you have planned |
