Infertility Support and Discussion
| 10:41 here, I O on my own too.. my RE said that the protocol is what they start 90% of patients on, but I agree..they might want to start people on a lower dose at first..they can always up the dose, but once there are too many eggs, you can't go backwards.. they actually put me on BCP that cycle as well (for fear of high multiples).. |
| I was at SG today for CD9 and had 11 follicles...but 9 between 14 and 17mm! I was taking 75 IU of gonal f. I previously did 3 cycles of clomid and TI but was told I was a poor responder, plus it gave mw thin lining and poor CM. So now obviously the FSH worked...too well, and the cycle is being canceled. Next month they'll dial it down to 37.5IU. They did tell me this would be wonderful IVF cycle...but my insurance doesn't cover it and this was only our first attempt at IUI, so I'm not ready for IVF I don't think. It does help to know this had happened to others. I guess it’s really not safe to try on our own, is it? |
I'm also at SG and doing our first IUI. They didn't have me come in for CD9. Was that an oversight by my nurse? I'm nervous that something like this will happen to me too. I was on clomid 50 mg days 3-7 and 75IU of FSH last night. Tomorrow I go in for day 11 monitoring. The reason I'm nervous is becuase on day 3 they counted a total of 18 antral follicles. They said that was fine but when I got home and reasearched it some more I read that between 10-12 is good. I'm worried that I'll also over-produce and the cycle will be cancelled. PP- do you know how many follicles you had on CD3? |

I am sorry...I didn't read through everything...
But at 39 I was not canceled due to excellent response to injects. We went forward because the likelihood of HOM in women older than 38 was pretty slim. We did 2 inject/IUIs...both tremendous responses...both BFN. I wasn't going to SG, though...and my RE was very aggressive with my treatment. |
