I work in an agency that the administration "likes" (HHS). However, even though I don't work for the part of HHS that is involved with sheltering immigrant children, my morale has completed plummeted with knowing that I am tangentially part of those just "following orders". However, my part of HHS has a great mission, Congress loves us even though the Administration cut out more than half our budget in the President's budget (Congress gave us a plus-up), and I work with great people. I had an opportunity to work directly for a political appointee just when the election had finished and I turned the position down. Best decision ever!!! The political appointees we have in my agency are bumbling jokes.

Morale is very low at my agency that the administration does not like. I'm actively trying to get out, but the job search has been tough. It's time for me to move on even under a good president but the Trump political picks have lit a fire under me to get out.
