She’s struggled for years. I don’t think it’s about aging or her career; she’s an addict, and suffers from mental illness, which can affect anyone, even those who are rich, famous, beautiful. It doesn’t discriminate. Hope she gets healthy.

Agreed. It seems like things started to go downhill when when they split up and Sambora hooked up with neighbor/friend Denise Richards. Of course, things could have been going downhill privately before that, and Locklear and Sambora could have split up because of their respective addiction issues.

I think if she had steady acting gigs, she would be fine.

But after consistently working for 35+ years, then suddenly having all this free time on her hands must be tough.

Aging is not for the faint at heart.
Roles have shrunken up and she is no longer the Dream California blonde bombshell she was during the eighties.
Instead she is fifty-six, unemployed and has two divorces under her belt.
Plus hasn’t been doing well finding a suitable life partner and may be terrified of being alone & jobless the rest of her life.

That could make ANYone have a mental breakdown in my humble opinion.

My uncle worked with her on set (key grip) and said she was very standoffish with everyone so most people thought she was a b!tch. He said she seemed nice enough when he had to talk to her but she did have diva behavior... late, couldn’t remember lines, needed lots of breaks. He thought back then it was drugs. Sad.
