Landmark Mall has been turned into a 1984 time capsule mall for the filming of a movie?

I wonder how that will go because without any street activity or people around, that's a lot of empty space for trouble to ensue.

Shouldn't the homeless people be cast as extras in the 1984 movie?

After all, I remember lots of homeless people in DC in 1984. They were everywhere.

Alexandria is in Virginia, not in DC.

Shouldn't 1980s nostalgia be taking a back seat to 1990s nostalgia by now?

I dunno, but now I’m nostalgic for the malls of my childhood.

The 80s were so much cooler. Since the 80s it's been a mishmash of undefinable blah.

I understand what you are saying, but I think the 90s also had it's own uniqueness of style.

It was not until the year 2000 onwards where all of the undefinable mishmash started.

After the finish filiming, it would be cool if they could open the mall for people to come check out the set.

I live in Alexandria and realize now that this was likely the reason the developer never did anything with the mall after closing it back in January. They must have had this deal to use the mall for filming in the works for quite a while. Hopefully after filming, the will start the mall renovation.

Part of Alexandria was DC a long time ago before you transplanted to this area to work for the government.

Another super hero movie from 2 years ago also was set in a mall in the 1980s. 1983 to be exact. I will post some pictures from the movie set.
