I'm so glad that Montgomery County kicked Connie Morella out of the House of Rep years ago

I am NOT happy with renaming my local library, the Bethesda Library, after her. She could be a decent woman, or not, I don’t dare. But I hate libraries who don’t have place names, and it would have to be a Mother Teresa-type figure to do away with such convenience.

In addition to being a responsive congresswoman and a thoughtful educator, Connie raised her sister’s 6 children in addition to her own 3 children after her sister died of cancer.

Not Mother Teresa, necessarily, but a fine woman.

All power to her, then. But I want my library to be called BETHESDA library. It's upsetting that MCPL cares so little about is customers that they didn't even ask them, or put it to a vote.

As a general rule, I would also submit that no minor politician's name be on a building for general use. As a politician, they will have their detractors and fans. They are polarizing in ways that other public figures are not.

+1. They should ask people before renaming the buildings.
