Suburban Parents: Do you let your teens go to into WDC with friends (no adults)?

Same for us with NYC. Better to just let the kids go so they don't lie.

DS first asked to take metro to see zoo lights with friends during winter break, Sophomore year. Responsible kid, nice group of friends. We let him go. I did check where his iPhone was on Find My Friends a couple of time.

Honestly, I would have paused if it was DD. She is super responsible, and I trust her completely. But she is very pretty and very petite, and the sexual assaults on metro concern me.

What's the point of living in this area of you don't enjoy the city itself?

I see those feral kids running the streets in DC. Where are the parents? There are many parts are DC that are not safe at all even for adults let alone kids.

My child is not "feral" you prick.

Was that your darling kids running across the intersection in bare feet, picking up rocks and exchanging them with the other feral kids. They hit my car when I was stopped at the light and I'd like to discu$$ it with you.

Yes, at age 14. They were allowed to ride the train to NYC in their own at 16.

Yeah there are those feral city kids. I always wonder where their parents are and do they even care what their kids are doing? Probably not.
