Soccer: waitlisted

VYS' waitlist is a true waitlist, at least this year. We had a neighbor whose daughter just got in off of it (a week ago). 2007 birthday, I think.

I have never heard of a wait list before.

Been around for years

I would just find another team to try out for. You don't want your kid to be #18 on the coach's list. They'll never see time on the field.

if your kid is a really top player, that makes sense. My son is good but not terrific and we are honestly mostly interested in the spot for the training and practice. He really wants to get better at soccer. There were 4 times as many kids trying out as there were slots on any level of team in our league. We took the waitlist spot and are happy to have it.

it's common in situations where there are more players that tried out then can be added to the teams. If someone rejects the offer then the next person on the wait list gets the opportunity to accept.

+1. Stoddert seemed to do it only with players just below the line, not everyone. As not everyone signs on, it makes some sense.
