It’s the same for every league and level. Your kid needs to stand out from the other kids. Teams already have players so they are looking for new players at the top of that group. Most kids don’t have standout soccer skills like catching balls out of the air with their feet, 1 v 1 moves, and dribbling through crowds) so the way to stand out is physically. Speed, size, aggression. Coaches think they can teach skills and soccer IQ but not speed and size. |

It puts kids in a horrible situation who get cut from their own team or who decide to switch teams to have to play the whole spring season as lame ducks. |
