“Indivisible Arlington” Meeting Descends Into Chaos

The thing about Arlington is that, after all the talk, all the focus groups, all the surveys, all the I-totally-hear-what-you're-saying ... rich white people get what they want.

The architecture is not great. But the neighborhoods are. It’s the best of nova.

I don't care for Arlington's neighborhood setup. Houses that take up 95% of the lot and communal parks aren't our thing. Sometimes you just like to have your kids play in your own backyard instead of walking to a park. I'll take Fairfax county any day very Arlington where you can have a big yard AND neighborhood parks.

We get it. You don’t like parks.

I love parks but I also love having a yard. In Fairfax you can have it all!

Alexandria has more history and charm, Fairfax has bigger houses and better schools, Loudoun is newer and has higher incomes. Arlington has middle-aged white liberals trying to dictate policy and melting down whenever minorities ask to be heard.

Been there, done that. Couldn’t pay me to leave Arlington to go back to Fairfax.

You couldn’t pay me to move back to Arlington. And we lived there when it wasn’t as stressful (politics, schools, social services) as it seems to be now.

Actually this perfectly describes Alexandria as well. Sorry to ruin your "history and charm" view of it...
