| Is Bailey next? |
| I would love it if our elementary principal took one of these newly opened spots. |
EMAILED him and give him a very good reference |
Andy is retiring. People do that. |
| These principals aren't that old. |
+1 Don't do that again OP |
Is this true? There's going to be lots of competition for principals in the Falls Church/McLean area with Haycock, Lemon Road, and Chesterbrook all looking. |
Why would anyone decent want Haycock? It’s a viper nest. |
| It's one of the best schools in the area basically propping up places like TJ and Langley. If FCPS doesn't want their reputation to sink further, they at least better care. |
| I also don't blame the Haycock parents at all. If they are doing better than the rest of the county and the county tries to change their school to be more similar to schools that are doing more poorly, why wouldn't they get upset? FCPS should be making more schools like Haycock (academically, not as such a large AAP magnet), not the other way around. |
Very few Haycock students go to Langley. |
Mclean also has a great reputation. Why try to change those schools doing well and make them more like less performing schools? |
Haycock is a very desirable school in a great location that feeds into two of the best public middle and high schools in the region and sends a lot of kids to TJ. When it got overcrowded, FCPS moved some of the AAP kids to Lemon Road (still a source of sour grapes for some), and the enrollment went right back up to where it had been within a few years. Fortunately, the school was renovated and expanded in the interim. |
I think based on when he graduated from college he's about 51. Is he truly retiring? Or just getting out of education? |
Maybe he was asked to retire. I guess the era of transferring principals is over with Braabrand tenure |
