When is the last date a child can re-take an SOL?

My middle school has a "study hall" built into the school day and children are placed in intervention groups based on SOL scores. So if your child fails their 6th grade SOL for math or reading, they will be put in an intervention group during that study hall time. 6th grade is the first year I would consider having a kid retake and only for math and reading.
