Confused about call from embryology lab today

I had 30 eggs collected at my one and only IVF cycle and I was uncomfortable as hell. It was like someone punched me in the stomach all the time. OP, please be sure you get adequate monitoring because this can get very unpleasant very quickly. Even dangerous. Please take care of yourself. I can't imagine how it must feel with 56 eggs!

I had my first IVF at 27. I have PCOS with all the classic signs and symptoms. I only yielded 11 eggs, all fertilized, 9 made it to blasts, 1 transferred and resulted in a boy, 8 frozen. I had severe OhSs with just 11 eggs and had to be drained under anesthesia while about 5 week pregnant. I cannot imagine what would have happened to me had they retrieved 50+ eggs. I don't understand these numbers or how is that even possible.

I know. I had 26 eggs retrieved and my ovaries were practically touching b/c they were so full of eggs.
