There are two SI pre-school classrooms. I don't know the total number of students in both classes. My daughter's pre3 class has sixteen kids. A child can start the program is pre-K as well. And I also believe (someone else can correct me here) they can start in first grade. After that I believe they would need to demonstrate proficiency in the language.

bump. Any new experiences with Tyler Spanish immersion? Am looking at applying this winter. Has the aftercare improved?

I am not a Tyler parent (although I tried to be!). I do know that the school has a new principal and has experienced some staffing challenges in the Spanish immersion program this year. I hear from friends with a PS-3 child that after care remains a concern -- but you should wait to hear directly from Tyler parents about that. I will be attending an open house this year to get at least some sense of the new principal and other changes, since I would still like my child to be in an immersion program.
