Sharing Sibley Birthing Experiences

I delivered in June 2006 and really have no complaints. My anesthesiologist (a man) had a calming manner and provided a helpful, play-by-play narration of what was happening during the c-section. I was rushed into the operating room because of a complication so I probably bumped someone else who was waiting for the anesthesiologist. L&D nurse (Lisa O) was fabulous. I was told that I received the last private room which was teeny-tiny, but I honestly was not focused on or concerned about the size or decor of the recovery room. The post-partum nurses were generally good. Care on the Saturday night shift was a little erratic; everyone seemed very busy, but that was my third night there so I rationalized that the nurses were probably spending more time with the moms who just delivered. I don't remember the food being particularly bad or good. For the first couple of days, I had only liquids and soft foods and remember being incredibly hungry and craving real food. We're planning to deliver our 2nd this Spring at Sibley. There is no perfect hospital. If you have an OB you trust and are happy with, trust that s/he has confidence in the hospital/birth center s/he works with. Good luck with your delivery!
