Ignore the Facebook drama or say something to smooth it over?

You should wish it to be assumed that you have been too busy with baby to have noticed anything on FB

Pretend you didn't see it. My SIL posts all kinds of stuff on fb throughout the day. I don't see half of it because of the fb algorithm stuff. I know I don't see half of it because if I click on her profile there are always like 10 posts that I've never seen mixed in with ones I have. So, plausible deniability, fb never showed you that post and no one can prove that it did...

(1) People who vague post on FB suck and no one should respond to them.
(2) People who try to communicate with anyone via a Facebook post suck.

If she felt bad, she should have told you. You have better things to do than respond to that ridiculous post.

Ignore and pretend you didn’t see it. If she brings up the post, act like you don’t know what she means. Then if she spologizes for bringing her sick kid, accept it.

I personally would just PM or text back, not publicly. Something along the lines of "thanks for being understanding earlier. It's important to me to keep the baby healthy right now. Looking forward to cousin time as soon as Larla is feeling better"

I'm the OP. We have an okay relationship. Last year they visited for Easter and it turned out her daughter had the flu. My entire family caught it. So this visiting with a sick child thing has been a particular sore point in our relationship.

You guys weren’t vaccinated?

NP here that vacinnates. Vaccines never provide 100% coverage. I thought everyone knew that by now.

Another NP here that also vaccinates, and the flu vaccine never covers all the strains in circulation, thought everyone knew that too...

We were all vaccinated. The vaccination does not cover all strains.

maybe she has a different SIL she pissed off? Just ignore unless she tags you, and even then, ignore

She feels bad and is searching for support on FB instead of contacting you directly. Ignore.
