Did your fig tree survive the winter?

I had a Chicago hardy fig in a big pot outside by a wall. It made me so happy to harvest small, sweet figs but... it did not survived last super cold winter.

Cut it at an inch above the dirt. It'll send up new growth in a month.

I have a potted Chicago hardy fig too — in Chicago — but I bring it inside for the winter.

How do you cut it?


I’m the pp whose fit is dead. I did cut it down last weekend. Had to use a saw. We’ll see if it was root killed or just top killed.
