Would you rather drive from JFK or take the train to midtown

This is a confusing thread but I can't fathom why anyone would take a personal vehicle into Manhattan - traffic is always crazy in NY - does the OP know nothing about NYC?

I made the mistake once of driving into Brooklyn to visit some friends as a stop on a roadtrip - never again. Can't imagine doing it with the added burden of having my kids in tow.

OP here. So the hotel valet parking is free and we will drive to upstate NY a few days later.
