Is CAAT (David Black's group) worth the extra money?

David Black is the best money we ever spent and I know 6 other moms that would say the same thing. I joke that he has a fan club of moms. He has done the neuropsychs for us and participated in IEP meetings and for some of us at hearings.

22:54 again. +1000. We had Dr Black come to the IEP meeting to explain his findings and recommendations after DS had his neuropsych eval in 2nd grade and will be having Dr Black come again after getting evaluated in 5th grade in May. Dr Black is an excellent advocate better than the very expensive and well known educational consultant and very well regarded developmental pediatrician we’ve used in the past for DS’s IEP. Our IEP team still talks about how helpful Dr Black was in explaining DS’s issues and gave us all of his recommendations in the IEP. Also, DS does not get any outside therapies. He gets everything at school at no cost to us through his IEP.

The educational consultant whose bill was comparable to Dr Black was just expensive and much less helpful. If you consider the cost of the neuropsych and using Dr Black as an educational advocate, he is a much much better value than paying for an neuropsych + paying an educational advocate separately.
