The basis dc middle school has been outstanding for my child : academically better or on par with its competition, ability to take algebra in 5th grade, no tolerance for bad behavior and enthusiastic teachers. And FREE!

reading comprehension. this is about Basis the private school, not the charter school

Reading comprehension for you....read where pp talks about basis dc

OP, I second looking at Langley or Potomac if the location is what is drawing you to Basis. Langley especially is not that far away. Location is a very odd reason to choose Basis - it's a very specific kind of school.

duh, why bring in something completely unrelated and irrelevant to the discussion? seriously, you should ask for your $$ back from the college you attended.

What quality of this interim head turns you off? Thanks.

I have not experienced outright, intentional lies, but I would not be surprised if others have experienced that from one of the many unqualified administrators. I have experienced frequently changing policies, inconsistent standards for teachers, miscommunication and misrepresentation, numerous promises made and broken. They say they have a solid track record as the BASIS network, but it does not show at this campus. There are so many problems that are not being addressed. The entire administrative team is incompetent and dysfunctional, on this campus and beyond McLeanto the people running all the independent schools. The first head of school was amazing, and the second one came from a prestigious school. If the new interim head becomes the permanent head, I will move my kids to another school. The academic program is advanced, but everything else is a disaster and heading in the wrong direction.
