No one can come to my kids birthday party

My kids have their first soccer and first baseball games on April 7th but I do not know what time. They would not miss the first game for even a relatively close friend.

Apparently it's the latter. Exaggerate much, OP?

Seriously, which one is it? OP get a grip.

The Monday before school begins might be okay but you do realize it's Easter weekend and many people have religious and family obligations right?

The party is on Easter weekend?

Probably bad timing because of holiday weekend. At this point don’t bother to change the date. Just tailor the event to the number of kids coming - follow up on the non-responders a few days before party to get an accurate head count. Don’t talk about it too much with your child until you know what is actually going on.
Try not to stress. You can make the birthday a happy day no matter what.

Sounds like it is either Easter weekend or the weekend after Easter.

I say go ahead and follow-up for peace of mind. When I did (spring birthday too) kids were indeed coming. Parents had forgotten to rsvp, or didn't see the invite or various other reasons and the holiday kind of throws things off.

this happened to my son, but we only invited boys from his class. we ended up with a small party and honestly, i don't think my son even noticed. he was playing laser tag with friends! next year, lesson learned -- the time interfered with basketball games. and i'll invite boys from both classes.

Oh shut up, will you? She wants her kid to have a nice birthday. So what if she exaggerated? I'm not exaggerating when I say you're being an a-hole.

A few kids are coming. Can't have a nice birthday with a few kids?

Same. There's always a big deal made out of the first games for baseball season. Our league does a LL parade of teams and announces all the players.

If OP means 3/31 as the week after spring break ends, we'd RSVP no because we're out of town. If OP means 4/7, we'd RSVP no because of sports obligations.

Also, I have a kid in a year-round sport and their schedule for April won't be announced until sometime next week during Spring Break. Maybe parents are waiting until the beginning of April to commit.

What weekend do you mean, OP? 3/31? Tons of people will be out of town then.

Agree some are waiting to RSVP because of sports. We are.

Exactly. Who wants to go through the work of having a party for 2-5 kids?! That's a dud! Especially if you've paid a deposit to rent a large space/play place when a simple home bday would suffice.

I think it’s still early OP if the party is 04/07. My daughters bday party is 04/08 and I asked for parents to please respond by April 1. We really only invited from kids she actually plays with and I know all the parents so have heard back from most but I wouldn’t sweat it-your still pretty far out.
