Yes this is happening on the APS Advisory Committee (ACI) right now, too. APS wants the advisory committee not to give them independent feedback on issues APS hasn't specifically asked about, and many parents on ACI are like, "wtfaps? We are volunteers and you will take what we give you because we care about our schools." Then APS is all, "nah, we prefer to exist in an echo chamber of toadish, self-congratulatory validation so that we can continue to pay our favorite architects to build expensive works of art that also serve as schools which we will then pay for by quietly increasing your class sizes, getting rid of frills like "teachers," and flexing out our walk zones so that kindergartners are hiking it a mile to school in the morning." It's a brutal hellscape really but then it's the Trump era so nothing matters. Everything is fine.

Thanks, 22:18.
Bitter laughter here. |
| 22:18, I needed that. Thank you. They need to be stopped. Maybe you can run against the Chair of the school board for re-election? |
| No more gimmicks and spending money without thinking about the long term. |
I wish we could get a Vihstadt-like member of the SB. I hate that the system is set up so you can't win unless you have the backing of the ACDC. |
Exactly!! What is wish Democrat-dominated understood is that one party rule never works out best for the people. And it doesn’t matter which party. The federal government is controlled by one party and Arlington the other. But, both have bad results. |
If ACDC controlled everything, Monique O'Grady wouldn't have successfully primaried James Lander. |
| What is needed is a new Superintendent. Identify those on the SB who are strong supporters of his, then act accordingly. |
Good luck with that. He spends money to get awards so we looks good to those outside the county. His budget even included money to create a new logo for APS while he's busy cutting services that actually help kids. NVD snuck his renewal in before Lander was out so she could ensure he'd stick around. SB members express concern over staff, but he stands behind them. It's a sad state of affairs. |
It is horrendous. I’m still trying to decide if I have respect for any of the SB members. The staff makes mistake after mistake, can’t manage a construction project and nothing happens. They all just stay or get promoted. |
