Do you flush tampons?

Why would you not flush it if you have modern plumbing?

It says on the packaging NOT to flush. Any public women’s bathroom you go into (yes, modern plumbing) has a sign saying not flush tampons or pads. It really takes two seconds to wrap and toss in the trash.

I flush even though I know you're not supposed to. I just can't bring myself to deal with them again once they're used. I tried using two different cups over two years and hated them. Luckily I'm in perimenopause so hopefully my tampon days are numbered, at last.

It must be East Coast thing. I never seen "Do not flush tampons" signs on the West coast. Pads - yes, but never tampons.

Never, and every time this topic comes up (which it has about a million times here before) I am confused all over again by those who do.

Flushing tampons is the reason I don't want to rent to women.

The plumbing works, the sewage system works and sewage processing plants work. That's enough for me to know.

I've been using tampons for 22 years and only ever flushed, until last month. I only learned that you weren't supposed to about five years ago, but I had only ever rented and never had plumbing issues in my life. So, i didn't change my routine until a month ago when I bought my first home. Now, it's my house and it will be my mega problem if there is a problem so the one period I've had since moving in, I wrapped in TP and walked them right to the kitchen trash to discard.

I'm kind of grossed out at the thought of leaving them in my small bathroom trash and besides that, my toddlers are too curious to leave anything I wouldn't want in their hands or mouth in that trash.

Once you've had a plumber come, and you see that dirty nasty thing the size of a rat come back to haunt you, you'll never flush one again.

No I do not. I only flush human waste and TP. No wipes - baby, flushable, etc. I live in a 1940s house. The 1940s house we rented before our current house - the prior renters clogged it and the line from the house to the street had to be dug our and replaced. No way am I dealing with that for a problem I caused. Our neighbors just did the same repairs as well.
I sleep better at night knowing that the family who lived in our house for 35 years before us had 2 sons.

Never. Just wrap with enough tp that the outside is dry, and then put in kitchen trash can or something else that you know is emptied every night for sure. Pretty easy really.

You don’t know how to empty the bathroom trash?

Just leave them in the stall at your work bathroom.
