tipping

I think tipping should be a flat rate. I can order a $2 coke at a bar, or a $7 draft beer. The effort is the same for the bartender, just pull the tap and fill the glass. Why should I have to pay more for the beer?

Usually the more expensive restaurants have servers who are doing this job as a career and not a college/hs job so those tips may be literally keeping a rood overhead. Think it's interesting that when people have control over where there money goes you see the cheap side..for some..come out but...if it's something that will benefit them like raising taxes for a wealthier group of people..they are all for it. Just an observation.

I never know if I need to tip at a restaurant for a take-out dinner when it's not really a take-out restaurant. Unlike pizza or Chinese where business is usually dine-in or carryout, I often pick up some sushi at a local Japanese place that's basically a sit down restaurant.

For take out I usually just round up a few bucks.
