Tell me how you helped your slacker teen turn it around?!

If it makes you feel any better, I've got a slacker 15 year old. He's also got ADHD/LDs so it's a double whammy. With few the exception of some 'deals' we made, he hasn't played a video game since the end of 1st quarter or had full access to his cell phone. It's been a challenge to be encouraging/supportive and too restrictive.

On the other end of the spectrum is my 13 yo DD. She's the opposite of slacker DS. Same parenting, same genetics, same expectations, different outcomes.

I have the same two kids! IMO, people who think it all comes down to parenting just got lucky to have easy/parent-pleasing kids.
