I was named after this song ![]() |
was this inspired by the baby name forum where someone was asking about 'brenda'? I suggested brandy, because of this song, which I also love ![]() |
OMG. I thought I was the only person ever who even remembered let alone loved this song. Have not heard it in ages. |
Ditto! |
Also love David Essex' "Rock On" |
I love this song.
Ever notice that Dancing in the Moonlight from the same era sounds like it was sung by the same folks? Anyway, I love the early 70s songs like this, even though I was born in late '67. |
Lord, he was an honest man! |
IKR!!! |
It's a fine song. What a goood song it would be (such a fine song!). |
See Yacht Rock Revue at the Hamilton. Almost sold out already for the May show. They're amazing. |
I have always wondered.....did the man that Brandy loved die at sea?
Or just not come back? Or visit ever now and then? I always want to know the end to these stories. And the bRandy song is a great story |
Clever. |
How about Wendy, always kickin' down the streets of the city and smiling...? |
I am not alone... Thanks for the memory, OP!
This song was popular when I was finishing high school and when I went to France for a year-abroad study in college, I purposely bought myself a braided chain made of finest silver in the north of Spain! |
Where's the person who summarized Baby's and Johhny's story? I think she gets pregnant and then he stops coming which leaves her devastated. Her little boy grows up and is about to run away to sea, when a First Mate stops him. He has been looking for Brandy's son (Brandon) for years and has an inheritance for him. The Sailor had heard it was a boy and secured riches for him. Brandy can set him up as a prosperous merchant (of braided chains!) and he will never go to sea and break his mother's heart. Then Brandon falls in love with a girl named Chardonnay... |
