My daughter was always obsessed with animals, and at that age loved played with Calico Critters, Schleich figurines, and Japanese erasers in animal form

Duplos/Legos
Magnatiles
ANYTHING arts and crafts (I'm going to Michaels this weekend to buy her a big bucket of pipe cleaners, felt, etc.)
Small dolls/figurines (she has a little Moana set, a Shimmer and Shine set, and a few others that she got for her birthday)

PlayDoh is her absolute favorite
My Little Ponies
Barbies (I take notes on their petty squabbles and storylines, cracks me up what she has them act out)

Mine is not quite 4, but just about anything princess related would be a big hit. Though I don't like to advertise this to the grandmothers so that they don't overwhelm us with princess crap.
