We didn't bring any Valentine's treats or gifts to daycare. Are we bad?

I HATE the suggested gift emails. But I've never heard of one of those for for valentine's day. We gave them cards and I've done chocolates in the past. It crossed my mind to get donuts this morning, but I ran out of time.

And, no, most of our kids who did bring a card for their teachers (and it wasn't 100% of the kids) just brought a card. No gift card to Starbucks, etc.

Let yourself off the hook. Next year, IF your child wants to write out/draw on/make cards, go for it. BUT if your child is under 3 years old, it's only for YOU to make them and really, why? [/quotgenetice]

You probably pay your worker's peanuts. Of course you don't care.

I've had kids in daycare for 7+ years and never heard of teacher gifts for Valentine's Day. We've been in 3 different daycares.

Don't forget that Teacher Appreciation is coming up next month I think and all the daycares we've been in make a big stinking deal of it and it drives me batty: Bring a treat for the teachers Monday, bring a card Tuesday, bring flowers Wednesday, etc. I can't bring flowers Wednesday. I work full time, that's why I need daycare, I can't go to the store at night t buy flowers. Just let me give a gift card and don't make me feel like crap for forgoing the rest of it.

The holiday doesn't mean anything to babies and toddlers, so we didn't bring cards until the kids were closer to three, and then they got into it.
