| Aldi sells Girl Scout cookies for less than a dollar a box. |
|
You're just noticing this? I love thin mints. Years ago, there were forty in a box, twenty per sleeve. I know this b/c I counted them every time and there were sometimes fluctuations of 38 or 39 but in general it was 40.
Now it's 32. And they cost more. |
| They’re gross anyway. |
Yes, I really just noticed it. The box was so empty- there was so much more plastic showing than cookies. Never counted them before. |
+ 1000 aldi Girl Scout cookies are amazing. Give the Girl Scout 10 dollars and get the same or better/fresher cookies at aldi |
|
Of course they are, and not just for that reason.
The cookies taste bad, because they're not made with great ingredients (pure butter, please). And girls are pressured by certain troupes and parents to sell those awful things. Parents then annoy everyone in their circle by trying to make sales. It's really sexist to expect girls to sell COOKIES when boy scouts aren't tied to that tradition. |
| The Aldi version of Samoas changed my life. |
|
Thin mints used to be amazing. The last year or so I thought they tasted not as good and less irresistible, but figured it just must be my recollection. It was only this year I learned that they are now vegan which explains why they do not taste the same. Personally I find it super irritating that they would make this classic vegan.
So I stopped buying but have donated cash. |
They really are identical! Wonder if they use the same bakery? Food Lion makes their own line of imitation Girl Scout cookies and they're pretty good as well. |
| They taste different to my husband and me than in past years. Not as good last year and seemingly worse this year. Didn't they used to cost $4 a box a couple of years ago and contain more cookies? I am. I am not buying any next year. |
BS sell popcorn so it’s not like they aren’t hawking food products. |
| The Aldi Tagalogs and thin mints are sooo good |
| They still cost $4 a box? If you donate $ your GS will likely use that to donate cookies to whatever charity their troop selected. |
| Is it weird that I love those peanut butter sandwich ones? Nobody else in my family will touch them. And they are jam packed in their little cookie sleeves in the box, so they are a good value, too. |
| Which kind were the ones with more plastic container? I just ate several boxes this week and didn't notice. I did notice I gained 5 lbs. |
