Not exact. You are about 6K off

That said, I would never ever pay UMD OOS without merit or not living on campus. Not really an option with Boulder

Absolutely not true. Check out this list of notable alums. Chevron's recently named CEO is a grad as well. CU Boulder is a great school, in an incredibly gorgeous environment. Your son/daughter could do a lot worse than spend 4 years in a fantastic university town with great school spirit, super smart kids, top programs in engineering, astronomy, chem and more.

You need to have better reading comprehension. Start over and then apologize.

I'm sorry. First of all, you're rude. Second of all, how should I interpret the comment "Both are basically COMMUNITY COLLEGES?"

I await your enlightenment.

You need to not be so rude. I see no problems with this response.

Boulder's campus is gorgeous and is not a COMMUTER college at all. Clearly this comment was made by someone without a clue.

Idiots, the OP asked about what Colorado Springs and Denver campuses are like, NOT Boulder. The PP's response was about BOTH (CS and D) being commuter schools, compared to Boulder, which they are. Get an f'ing clue!!

UColorado unless the student is some real outliner demographic

What does this even mean? They're all University of Colorado

It means if are an ordinary age out of high school heading to college as a Freshmen, they are going to want to be at UColorado Boulder. If they are an adult student going back to college, working adult .. older ... some outliner, it won't matter to them as much.

For which one?

What number are you working with?

I'm so sorry to break this to you. But YOU are wrong. If you first read the title of the post, it is "University of Colorado BOULDER vs. Colorado Springs vs. Denver." That is 3 things, and yes they did mention Boulder. In addition, if you re-read the question, it states:

"Does anyone have any experience with any of these? Is there an academic difference or variablility among THE THREE? I know Boulder is bigger and is the "main" one, as reflected by the significantly higher OOS tuition, but is there a real differentiator in the quality of UG education?"

So in the title, and in the question, THREE schools are mention, not two. They also ask about the ACADEMIC difference, not if one or more are commuter schools. You are rude, obnoxious, and as evidenced by your post, clearly cannot read. The next time you feel like it's appropriate to lash out at someone on an anonymous site, why don't you go back and make sure that it's not YOU who needs to get an f'ing clue?

Wow. Hint: read the second post on the thread. The entire point of contention here is the community/commuter college thing - this is introduced in the second post, where that PP says "They are both basically [commuter] colleges. Only 16% of undergrads live on campus at CS and they don't even have dorms for Denver."

It is pretty frightening that you are needing this to be broken down for you so much. I am a NP and this will be my only attempt, because of you are unable to understand after this I'm not sure that there is any hope. Here we go:
-OP is saying (s)he knows that Boulder is the main campus, but asking is there any real difference in terms of quality of education as compared to the others?
-PP then chimes in and (echoed by other PPs) says the other two are essentially commuter campuses, no one really lives on campus and it's an entirely different experience. (For evidence that the "commuter college" comment was regarding the Denver and CS campuses, see above ("both", etc.))
-you then pop in and start aggressively defending the boulder campus / college town experience, and arguing that it's not a commuter college
-other PPs tell you that's not relevant; everyone knows Boulder is the main campus and is definitely a college town experience and is just great
-you become angry and combative
-other PPs try to help you understand the disconnect
-you write this last post showing out very clearly are not comprehending
-I pop in with a last-ditch attempt
And scene!
