OP I feel your pain. My DH often ruins infrequent chances for me to enjoy myself in situations like the one you described. It wouldn't matter if there were lot's of opportunities to enjoy life, but when you are on a budget and tight on time and you schedule a special chance to have fun, it really sucks when your spouse ruins it with a bad attitude.
