Anywhere I have been the only woman in the room, from teaching little boys Sunday school to coaching high school to business meetings, I am always surprised by the noise level.
What is this all about?

The somber silence of my DD’s sleepovers will haunt me always.

???

NP. This is clearly a joke

Men and boys are never shushed the way girls and women are. Hopefully this is changing!

Ugh some kids are just freaking loud and don't have inside voices. It's how they are brought up rather than gender.

What is an "FD"?

You’ve never set foot in a school, poor dear.

+1

This is backwards. Boys are like big dogs who get corrected more quickly, because people find them more threatening, while girls are like those little dogs that are permitted to run wild and be noisy because it's "cute."

I moved into a townhouse when my baby was a month old. There were two boys around 10 and 12 who lived next door. My mother came for two weeks to help take care of the baby. She asked me what was wrong with the boys next door. I looked at her and asked her what she was talking about. My husband who was raised with 2 sisters asked her the same thing. She said boys are never that quiet. She said if my brothers were quiet too long it meant they were up to something. Turns out the boys did have special needs. I now have two tween boys and my mother was right. Boys are so loud!
