That doesn’t even pay that well with a PhD. If you have a bachelors in psych you might be a real estate agent or a waiter.

You can't become a psychologist without a PhD. And it's not that well paying. I am a clinical psychologist - 7 years of post-grad schooling - and make $80K 18 years into my career. (I love what I do so pay is kind of moot for me, but it's NOT a career you get into if you don't want to go to school for a looong time or want to make a lot of money.)

Most jobs that pay well if you only have a Bachelors, also pay well if you have no degree at all.

Think sales, plumbing, owning a lawn service....

OP, are you trying to ask what jobs can you be mediocre at and get well paid?

If your kid can write well, English. I know a surprising amount (at least, it surprised me when I first got into the corporate world) of business managers/owners who love English majors. There is always a need for good writers out there. The major often gets a bad rap because a) there are plenty of people with a degree in English that actually suck at writing; and b) the first job out of college usually doesn't pay much. But a smart kid with an English major can work their way up the ranks pretty fast IME.

There are plenty of jobs for kids who graduate with a BS in psychology.

Psychology can be a worthwhile major if combined with strong quant/research skills. I work in marketing research and regularly hire psychology majors, although they often double major or minor with economics, marketing, statistics. My DS is interest in psychology and if that interest continues to college I'll encourage him to combine it with a double major in econ or stats (he's also a very strong math student).

Yes, there is plenty you can do with just an undergraduate degree in psychology. Being a psychologist, as PP had on her list, is not one of them.

When the jobs listed are “childcare worker”, “parole officer”, and “sales rep”, you might as well keep on researching alternative majors
