| Isn't a true pear (narrow waist, big butt and hips) extremely rare in men? |
A guy in my office is built like this. He was a D1 football player. |
| There may be an underlying medical reason for such a body shape. But anyways, It is a bit of a turn off. |
You have a friend in the Relationships forum. |
Yes but it exists. |
| I have heard of the term but can someone post pics of a pear shaped man? It’s not just being overweight or obese? |
Ew plus a million |
| I've known a couple of men with that weird physique. It is deeply unattractive. |
Then I guess we’re both shallow. |
| I noticed this with a lot of South Asian men (not hating I'm south Asian myself). It's pretty unfortunate. I think people of African descent tend to have the most impressive physiques. Just a little jealous! |
Yes, this. I have generally pretty 'forgiving' taste and if I get to know a guy and like his personality have been totally fine with / attracted to bald guys, heavier guys, bad teeth, even short(er) guys... But a pear shaped body is one trait I have never been able to overlook. That and a weak chin...just no. |

For a skinny pear-shaped man, I think of Joey Ramone.
Most of the pear-shaped men I know in real life are also overweight, carrying weight just the way typical women do, which is why many women instinctively don't go for it. Just as typical straight men instinctively are drawn to a small waist relative to hips in women, it's about basic markers of fertile femininity or masculinity. |
